Lean on the Nurses’ Closet......for those in need of temporary equipment, the Nurses’ Closet is a convenient option for the residents of Orland Township.  Residents can borrow medical equipment for  up to 60 days.


What kind of medical equipment is available to borrow?

Wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, canes, crutches, hospital beds, lift chairs, and other medical supplies are available to those who need them. Also available are wigs, blue bed underpads, and adult diapers.


Where does the medical equipment come?

All equipment is donated by the generous residents of Orland Township and surrounding areas.

Nurses’ Closet

Please visit the Orland Township office at 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue to select a physician for school, camp, or sports physicals; a dentist for a screening examination, cleaning or x-rays; an ophthalmologist or optometrist for a vision examination; a chiropractor for an examination; or a podiatrist for an examination and debridement, from the list of those participating.


The fees charged represent discounts of as much as, if not more, than, 50% per medical service. Payment for the service may be made at the Township.


Appointments must be scheduled with the physician


(Please note that the physical examination may not be used for an illness. Proof of residency will be required at the time of discount voucher purchase.)

Podiatry Screenings

The long trek to healthy feet ends at Orland Township.  We are pleased to offer free screenings for the residents of our community!

A local podiatrist will be providing free screenings on the third Wednesday morning of every other month.

Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the Orland Township office at (708) 403-4222.

Disability parking placards are valid for a temporary period of three months.  Please call Orland Township at (708) 403-4222 for additional information.

IMMUNIZATION CLINICS

Orland Township immunization clinics are held monthly at the Orland Township Building,14807 S. Ravinia Avenue.  All vaccines are administered to Orland Township residents 18 years of age and younger.


We now offer the following adult vaccines for a minimal charge.

Children, ages 18 and younger, must be accompanied by a parent unless special arrangements have been made with the Health Services department the week prior to the clinic. 


A written immunization record and proof of residency must be presented at the clinic.  Those receiving shots must eat before attending the clinic.

Health Fairs are offered twice a year.  Residents can receive school physicals for $20.00, free dental screenings, free vision screenings and immunizations.

DRUG CARDS


Free prescription discount drug cards are available to Orland Township residents under a National Association of Counties (NACo) sponsored program. The Prescription Discount Card Program can save residents an average of 24% off of the retail cost of prescription medications, as well as some diabetic supplies that are no covered under a traditional insurance plan.


The NACo Prescription Discount Card Program has a national pharmacy network of more than 60,000 pharmacies. The cards may be used by all Orland Township residents regardless of age, income or existing health coverage and they are accepted at most pharmacies in Orland Township.
