Free Amplified Phone Program
The Illinois Telecommunications Access Corporation (ITAC) has expanded its mandated program to include free amplified telephones to those who qualify. Requirements are: they must be a resident of Illinois, they must have a standard phone service in their home, and they must have their physician certify that they are unable to use the standard phone service. There are no age or income requirements. If you or someone you know is in need of this service, please stop by the Orland Township Office to pick up an application.
Selection Centers provide these services:
-
Testing of Amplified Phones
-
Testing of the CapTel Phone
- Testing the TTY
Trained staff will assist you in testing this equipment. Please call the center nearest you to arrange a visit and find out its hours of operation.
